We have to stay strong. Try to control our anger, emotions & worries. Pain exists so let the pain arrive and observe your emotions. Stand back. Experience your emotions like waves, coming and going. I know that learning to let go of emotions is extremely difficult. Try getting some distance from a painful emotion that you have. Put it over there and look at it, maybe as if it were on a screen or on a stage. Describe in words what the experience of that emotion is like. This also helps to give you distance and perspective.

To be able to pass difficult, hard times, my recommendation is daily meditation. Wake up early, do your practice. Ideally, be with nature to be soothed and healed, and have your senses put in order.

I just conducted and organised a yoga retreat in Lapland, Finland. In the northernmost parts of Finnish Lapland, the sun stays above the horizon for over 70 consecutive days. It was an unbelievable experience to conquer a fell and watching bathe in the light of the midnight. In Finland summer is very different than what I am used to. Everything starts a bit later. The month of May might have a chance of snowfall. June is often rainy and unfriendly. But when nature finally wakes up from its long dream, it’s well worth the wait! Finnish summer is green, fresh and vivid. It is the blue lakes, the sunbeams dancing on the waves, the golden rye fields, the late night sunsets shining like rubies. A Finnish summer signifies boating, the scent of strawberry, the burning wood in a sauna next to a lake and grilled corn. Its wearing windcheaters and rubber boots. Also swimming naked at 10 pm in the sunshine.

Thanks to Mother Nature who teaches us & reminds us of so much. I realize once again that life is like weather. One day could sunny, the next day could be rainy or windy. We don`t know what`s waiting for us. Anything can happen in the blink of a moment. The only reality is that it is now, the present, today. All I can say is that we must be strong physically, mentally & emotionally to be able to face what comes our way.

Don`t lose your Hope. Take time out to do Yoga & to meditate. Be in and with Nature from time to time. Connect. Share and surround yourself with positivity. Choose to be calm.
